Port Orchard, WA (June 12, 2021) - A hit-and-run accident in the Port Orchard area left two people injured on Tuesday, June 8.

Local reports indicated that the collision occurred near the intersection of WA-16 and Tremont Street and involved two vehicles. That afternoon, a black Chevrolet Camaro was hit by a pickup truck as both vehicles were traveling eastbound on the highway near the exit for Tremont Street. The impact caused the Camaro to leave the roadway and crash into a tree.

Witnesses from the scene claimed that the pickup truck was last seen traveling eastbound at around 2 p.m. Officials later revealed that the truck was a blue late 90’s Ford Ranger pickup. The driver and passenger of the Camaro were sent to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Tacoma for treatment. The area was closed temporarily while emergency response units were on-site.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
