Lynnwood, WA - Two Injured When Driver Crashes into WSDOT Truck on I-5

Lynnwood, WA (September 19, 2021) - On Saturday, September 18, two people were injured after a Washington State Department of Transportation truck was hit in a crash in Lynnwood.

The incident occurred on Interstate 5 near 164th Street SW. According to local sources, the truck fro the Incident Response Team was blocking the HOV lane on the highway. A WSDOT worker was inside the vehicle as it blocked off the site of an ongoing investigation.

The driver of another vehicle reportedly drove past flares and hit a cone before rear-ending the WSDOT truck. Both drivers were transported to Swedish Hospital in Edmonds for treatment. The other motorist was cited for careless driving.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
