Deadly Bicycle Accidents in Seattle

undefinedCycling has experienced growing popularity in recent years, and there are tens of thousands in the city of Seattle alone. While a bike can be a great way to get around, riders are exposed to serious dangers while out on the road. A total of 818 people were killed in bicycle accidents nationwide in 2015, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. That marks a nearly 6% increase in cycling fatalities from the previous year.

No matter if you live in a big city or a rural area, you are going to share the road with pedestrians and cyclists from time to time, and drivers on Seattle roadways owe a duty to all roadway travelers, including traveling on foot. Many state residents in Washington walk to restaurants, go for a jog, or just want to enjoy a beautiful day on their bike. As a pedestrian, you have legal rights, and if a loved one is struck by another vehicle and suffers fatal injuries, you may be entitled to compensation with the help of a qualified Seattle personal injury lawyer.
