Tukwila, WA - Two Killed in Three-Alarm Fire at Maple Crest Apts

Tukwila, WA (August 18, 2021) - On Tuesday, August 17, an adult and child were killed following a blaze at an apartment complex in Tukwila.

The incident occurred at the Maple Crest Apartments located at the 15100 block of 65th Avenue S. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at around 5 a.m. that morning and arrived to discover that the entire building was engulfed in flames. Multiple emergency crews were on-site, and the fire was reportedly burning for roughly five hours.

Fire departments were evacuating nearby buildings due to the severity of the fire. Two people were killed in the blaze, and multiple others were unaccounted for. Areas of the roof were reportedly collapsing as the fire was being contained.

The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fire is being managed by local authorities.
