Pedestrian Accidents in Tacoma Washington

undefinedWalking is a great way to get around, and many Washington state residents choose to travel on foot. Unfortunately, pedestrians are more exposed to the dangers of the road. In 2017, a pedestrian was killed every 88 minutes on average, contributing to 5,977 fatalities that year. Statistics show that pedestrians are nearly 1.5 times more likely to be killed in the event of a motor vehicle collision.

No matter if you live in a big city or a rural area, you are going to share the road with pedestrians from time to time, and drivers on Seattle roadways owe a duty to all roadway travelers, including pedestrians. Many residents in Washington walk to restaurants, go for a jog, or just want to enjoy a beautiful day on foot. As a pedestrian, you have legal rights, and if you are struck by another vehicle and injured, you may be entitled to compensation with the help of a qualified Seattle personal injury lawyer.
