Royal City, WA - Teen Girl Seriously Injured in Crash at Rd 11 SW & Rd P SW

Royal City, WA (May 20, 2021) - A 16-year-old girl suffered serious injuries after being injured as a passenger in Royal City on Monday, May 17.

At around 4 a.m. that morning, a 17-year-old boy was driving a motor vehicle on Road 11 SW, roughly 12 miles north of Royal City. Near the intersection with Road P SW, the driver reportedly dropped his phone and attempted to retrieve it. In the process, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a pole.

The vehicle overturned, and the female passenger was partially ejected. She was reportedly taken to Harborview in serious condition. The driver and two other passengers were transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for the treatment of sustained injuries.

Charges are pending against the driver at this time. An ongoing investigation into the accident is being managed by local authorities.
