Olympia, WA (May 22, 2021) - A fatal accident involving a bicycle and a commercial truck was reported in Olympia on Thursday, May 20.
According to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, the deadly crash occurred at the 500 block of 93rd Avenue SE. A cyclist was reportedly traveling on the roadway when they were struck by a semi-truck. Emergency responders were called to the scene to render aid to the injured party.
Despite life-saving measures, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown if any other involved parties sustained injuries. The area was closed for several hours while emergency response units were present.
An ongoing investigation into the fatal bicycle crash is underway.
