Seattle, WA - Construction Worker Killed in Accident on Lake Washington Blvd

Seattle, WA (June 4, 2021) - A construction worker died following an accident at a site in Seattle on Wednesday, June 2.

Local reports indicated that the deadly incident occurred at the 2500 block of Lake Washington Boulevard at around 5 p.m. The worker was at the site of the WA-520 Montlake Project when he was hit in the chest by an 11,000-pound steel beam. The victim was then pinned between a flatbed truck and a pillar.

Crew members at the scene were able to extricate the 45-year-old victim and perform CPR before emergency responders arrived. The injured party died while in transit to a hospital for treatment. The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.

An ongoing investigation into the deadly workplace accident is in progress.
