Kitsap Co, WA (July 3, 2021) - There were reported injuries following a three-vehicle crash in Kitsap County on Friday, June 25.

The accident reportedly occurred on WA-3 just south of Hood Canal Bridge at around 5:30 p.m. that evening. According to the Washington State Highway Patrol, a 20-year-old Chimacum driver was traveling north on WA-3 in a 1998 Jeep Cherokee, outside of Breidablick. The driver reportedly rear-ended a stopped 2020 Ford Ecosport driven by a 58-year-old Sequim man.

The impact caused the SUV to be pushed into the southbound lanes, where it was hit by a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The Ford continued into the ditch, while the Jeep also hit the Silverado. The Sequim man was transported to St. Michael Medical Center-Silverdale for treatment. The 30-year-old Poulsbo man driving the Silverado was taken by family to a medical center for treatment.

The driver of the Jeep was not injured and was charged with following too closely. An ongoing crash investigation is in progress.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
