Pierce Co, WA - Two Critically Injured in Off-Road Accident near WA-165

Pierce Co, WA (June 2, 2021) - On Sunday night, May 30, a male and female passenger of a pickup truck were flown to a hospital in critical condition following an off-road accident in Pierce County.

Authorities were dispatched to the scene at the 38900 block of WA-165 at around 9:30 p.m. that evening. The site was located roughly two miles from the western side of Mt. Rainier National Park. Local sources revealed that a 1982 Toyota pickup truck struck a tree while traveling on National Forest Road 7930.

The truck then slid into a nearby embankment where it crashed into another tree. The driver and passenger were driven to Carbonado and then airlifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment of serious injuries. No further updates on the conditions of the injured parties have been provided.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
