Port Orchard, WA (February 23, 2021) - A Port Orchard woman was killed after being fatally struck in a pileup collision on Friday evening, February 19.

The site of the fatal crash was located near the intersection of Bodle Road and SE Sedgwick Road. According to reports from the Washington State Patrol, the driver of a 2006 Toyota 4Runner had stopped on the eastbound lanes of Sedgwick Road and was attempting to stop traffic. The woman was struck by her own car after it was hit by an eastbound 2009 Hyundai Elantra.

The Elantra proceeded to spin out and collide with a westbound 2009 Ford Taurus. The woman that was struck, 56-year-old Daris Klos, was transported to Tacoma General Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The 74-year-old Port Orchard man driving the Elantra was also hospitalized for treatment of sustained injuries.

No further injuries were reported. An ongoing investigation into the deadly crash is currently underway.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Daria Klos at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and his family in hopes of a full recovery.
