Forks, WA (February 19, 2021) - A man was injured following a two-vehicle collision involving a log truck west of Forks on Wednesday, February 17.

According to local sources, a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by 33-year-old Devere W. Sanchez of Forks was traveling westbound on WA-110 (La Push Road) at the time of the crash. For unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with a Peterbilt log truck. The crash occurred near mile marker two at around 10:54 a.m.

Sanchez was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for the treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the truck, 68-year-old David E. Beebe also of Forks, was uninjured in the collision. No further updates on the accident are currently available.

An ongoing investigation into the accident is currently underway.

Our thoughts are with Devere W. Sanchez and his family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.

Trucking Accidents in Washington

undefinedWhen a commercial vehicle is involved in a collision with a passenger car, the occupants of the smaller vehicle are likely to suffer from serious injuries. Each year, there are more than 500,000 trucking accidents reported across the United States, and these collisions contribute to thousands of fatalities each year. Trucking accidents were the second-most commonly reported type of crash in Washington in 2015, resulting in 38 fatalities that year.

Large semi-trucks can cause catastrophic injuries in the event of a collision with a passenger vehicle. Truck-driver inexperience is a leading cause of deadly commercial vehicle accidents as companies are trying to fill positions due to a shortage of drivers, and this negligence contributes to serious crashes involving 18-wheelers and commercial vehicles. When the negligence of another driver results in a crash, injured victims should consult with a Seattle trucking injury lawyer in order to recover lost compensation by pursuing a Washington personal injury claim.
